Welcome to the May Edition of Epping MGOC Newletter
April has given us all something to have our cars out and about for.
I do understand that some members went to Brooklands for MG Day over the Easter weekend
Brooklands is not only a very good Car Museum and of course it was the home of British Motor Sport it does have some very interesting Aircraft on display
April 15th 5 crews from Epping Areawent to Gaydon Museum as on the first event of the year to celebrate 50 years of the MGB The road run which started from Dunstable Downs was very well organised and passed through some very pretty villages and some really great views over the Chiltern Hills
And one land mark we passed under the bridge which was the site of The Great Train Robbery
April 22nd This was the day of our own Club Event it was a concern to us it had been raining on & off all week would we be lucky with the weather? The Drive it Day Run to Bressingham Steam Museum at Diss Norfolk managed by your committee had 54 cars on the 72 mile run which started from the Stansted Services on the M11 and passed through some very nice villages on the route, we have had several email thanking us for the route and for making a very good day out for MG owners. My own thanks must go to John & Carole for manning the Stansted start handing out the route maps and rally plaques and getting the drivers organised to start off on time. Paul Garry and Lilly did a great job in making sure that cars as they arrived Bressingham knew where to go directing them to the museum entrance again my thanks to them for their hard work that entailed getting everybody parked up as we had another 34 cars joining us at Bressingham who had come direct from the Anglia region. This event is the largest one day gathering of MG Cars in the area
We will be putting on a display at Battlesbridge on May 6th we do have a club stand there
I will send out the joining instructions nearer the day
May 13th is Regency Run it may not be to late to enter if you are quick. The route follows the roads used for the London to Brighton Veteran Vehicle Emancipation run. Entry forms are in the Club Magazine
May 20th We do have a club stand booked for Old Warden Classic Car show
Can any members who have sent off an entry form please let me know if they booked in as I do need to confirm with the organisers the number of cars attending
May 26 & 27 is Enfield Pageant of Motoring although we do not have a club stand there we do have a lot of members who are going along for both Saturday & Sunday I will put out an email nearer the time so that we all can meet at one point and arrive together again those who have sent off an entry can you please let me know so we can all arrive together.
Lots of car events for June
June 3rd is the New Forest Run lovely run through Hampshire countryside watch out for the Ponies! entry foms in the Club Magazine
Sat June 9th Datchworth Village fete please let me know if you have booked to go we can then sort out a meeting point
Sunday June 10th Bromley Pageant the largest one day car show entry forms will be with us on Wednesday
Sunday June 17th We do have a club stand booked for Hatfield Heath Festival Car Show Entry is Free but we must prebook the number of cars attending. We did win Best Club Stand here last Year
Over the weekend of June 23d /24th is Silverstone Live organised by The MGCC this is a very full weekend of Racing Autojumble Autotesting and Concours
Our Meeting for June 6th is our AGM Your current committee are happy to continue in their present roles. if we do have any body who would like to stand for any posts on the committee can they please advise at least 14 days before the AGM and if anybody has any other club issues that they would like to bring up please advise again 14 days before
Club Rally Plates. Any member who has not yet received their own Epping Area Rally Plate please ask we will have them with us on Wednesday
Our Club Holiday for This Year
Isle Of Wight September 22nd for 7 nights or arrive September 24th for 5 nights Please see Angelia or Clive for Details
Club Polo Shirts and Fleece I have placed an order for these and hope to have them before the car club season really starts I do have a list of those who are waiting for their regalia
